Garnet Bracelets
Deep red that reads almost black indoors — light it properly and it sells itself.
Garnet is the January birthstone, which gives it a calendar of demand every year. The colour runs from brick red to a deep wine that looks black in low light and lights up the moment it is backlit.
Grade is about transparency and how red the stone reads through the bead. Opaque dark material is cheap; clean, evenly coloured material with light coming through it is what carries a premium.

Buying notes
What changes the price in this stone.
Read these before comparing our quote with a cheaper one — the difference is usually one of these three points.
It looks black without backlight
Dark garnet absorbs most light. On a shop counter it will read almost black until it is on a wrist or held to a window. Photograph it backlit or buyers will think it is onyx.
Transparency sets the price
Compare two strands at the same size: the one you can see light through costs materially more. Decide which your customer is paying for.
Birthstone timing
January demand is predictable. If you plan a birthstone range, order in November rather than December.

Questions
Asked before most first orders.
Which garnet is this?
The dark red material in this line is almandine-type garnet. We describe the lot as supplied rather than claiming a species that has not been confirmed by testing.
Do you supply other garnet colours?
Green (tsavorite) and orange (spessartine) are quoted as made-to-order lines, at very different price points. Ask for a current quote.
Is it treated?
Garnet in this grade is normally supplied untreated; we confirm the status for the actual lot on request.
