Larimar Bracelets
One mine in the world, a blue that photographs badly and a price that keeps climbing.
Larimar is blue pectolite, and it comes from one volcanic region in the Dominican Republic. There is no second source, which is why the price sits several times above quartz and why buyers who know the stone buy carefully.
It is graded on two axes: how saturated the blue is, and how much of the white wave pattern runs through the strand. Deep, even blue costs the most; pale or heavily white material costs far less.

Buying notes
What changes the price in this stone.
Read these before comparing our quote with a cheaper one — the difference is usually one of these three points.
Single source
Larimar is mined in one small region. Supply is finite and volatile, so a quote is only held for the validity period stated on it.
Pattern is half the grade
The white wave — the 'fern' pattern buyers look for — differs strand to strand. A strong pattern on pale blue can outsell flat deep blue at retail.
Check for cracks and pits
Larimar is softer than quartz and can show surface pits or hairline cracks. Ask for a close-up photo of the actual lot rather than a catalogue image.
Specification
Standard build for every line.
Any of these can be changed per order. Changes are quoted, not assumed.
Treatment and documentation are confirmed per lot. Tell us what your market requires and it is included in the quote rather than added later.

Questions
Asked before most first orders.
Is your larimar treated?
Larimar is normally supplied untreated; some low-grade material is stabilised. We confirm the treatment status of the specific lot rather than assuming it.
Why is larimar so much more expensive?
Single source, limited supply and a high proportion of material that never reaches gem grade. There is no cheaper origin to switch to.
What sizes do you stock?
8, 10 and 12 mm from stock; other diameters are quoted as a made-to-order line.
